My very unscientific poll reveals that the best thing to do in Kailua during the stay at home order (provided you are not in quarantine, or part of the more vulnerable population) is to EXERCISE!
There are so many fewer cars on the road, that it is a joy to walk, jog or bike around the town. Explore your neighborhood, check our Kailua real estate from the curb (shameless plug) and burn all of those hard earned COVID calories that we have all been over indulging on!
In Kailua many of our local restaurants are still doing take out during limited hours and are providing contactless pick up. There are also the BiteSquad delivery options if you just can't venture out. I just learned that Kailua cinema will cell their concessions and popcorn in a drive-thru/pick up style way (who doesn't love buttery popcorn?).
Our supermarkets are still open, albeit with new signage everywhere to remind us to remain physically distant.
And on Saturday, the beach parks openned -- and I ventured out. There was still plenty of parking -- there were no big parties and our local police were still patrolling on their ATVs.
